Join us at the 10th Annual             Mid-West Ability Summit

The Midwest Ability Summit is a metro-wide ability expo for those with disabilities, including youth, adults, families, caregivers & professionals. Attendees will have an opportunity to explore booths that provide products & services to the disabled community. Their goal is to bring together persons with disabilities & the organizations, products, resources & programs to assist them with leading full & productive lives. We at the Jacomo Sailing Club fully support this cause. We have an Adaptive Sailing program and have worked with this organization in the past. We encourage our membership to attend and see how we can bring the joy of sailing into their lives. 

Saturday, August 24th, 2019 10am – 4pm at the Overland Park Convention Center at 6000 College Blvd. Overland Park Kansas.

Midwest Ability Summit Flyer

Wyant Cup Club Championship  
Saturday, September 7 - 8:00am

This is an intra club regatta designed to demonstrate a sailors sailing skills using various yachts and unique racing formats. The winner of this regatta will be deemed club champion and their name listed on the Wyant Cup trophy, presented at the season end awards banquet.

Sailors must register in advance no later that 12:00 noon on Saturday August 31 to compete.

Novice Regatta 
Sunday, September 8 - 11:00am

This is an intra-club regatta designed to familiarize new sailors to club racing. Racers are encouraged to team with experienced sailors to help and coach them.  Racers may use their own or a borrowed boat, this changes chapter VIII of Jacomo Sailing club by-law. It is encouraged that borrowed boats are crewed by the boat’s owner or knowledgeable sailor to assist the helmsman.  All yachts will sail the same course and are scored on a Portsmouth handicap basis.

Saturday Cruiser Series Races

This Saturday August 17 at 2:00pm, we continue our Saturday keelboat race series. Every other Saturday, we'll set up a long course suitable for larger vessels in order to encourage larger yachts to try out racing.
