Documents: Notice of Race Results: Race Results Schedule: 12:30 PM - Skippers Meeting Meet us at the dock by the RC pontoon boat and we'll go over a brief presentation of rules, course types, starting sequence and answer any questions. 1:30 PM - Start of First Race The first warning signal for the day is scheduled for 1:25 PM and we'll plan on running 2 races for the day. The novice skippers will be 5 minutes from the start when the red, white, and blue pennant (pennant 3) is displayed, and will start when it is lowered. 4:30 PM - Sailgate Social After the racing is over and the boats are put away, meet us back in the rigging lot for a casual gathering. Bring your own chair, beverages, and snacks.
About: The Novice Regatta is a club regatta for active members designed to familiarize new sailors to club racing. Racers are encouraged to team up with experienced sailors to help and coach them. The principal skipper of each race shall be a student, or a member in good standing that: - HAS COMPETED IN FEWER THAN 6 RACES AS SKIPPER IN ANY CLUB SERIES OR SPECIAL RACES IN THE PAST 24 MONTHS - HAS NOT TROPHIED IN THIS EVENT BEFORE - IS OTHERWISE CONSIDERED A NOVICE SAILBOAT RACER BY THEIR PEERS Racers may use their own or a borrowed boat - Sweet 16s are the intended boat to maintain one-design scoring. Other boats will be combined into a Portsmouth Handicap (D-PN) fleet if not enough boats are available. It is encouraged that borrowed boats are crewed by the boat’s owner or knowledgeable sailor to assist the helmsman.
