About this event
Intro to Sailing 101 Cost: $600 - bring a partner, spouse, or friend for an additional $480.
This basic sailing course is designed for beginners with no sailing experience. Included in your cost is US Sailing's Learn to Sail textbook (a $17.95 value), orientation session included as part of your four classes (two on Thursdays and two on Saturdays), and access to our Boatshare boats upon successful completion of the Boatshare checkout. Instruction is a combination of self-paced book and video work before your 4 in person classes. Each in-person class has a rigging lot "classroom" portion followed by on the water practice. Skills include rigging, launching, sailing upwind and downwind, starting and stopping, right-of-way, and docking. The on the water training solidifies your skills, with one instructor and two to three students per boat. All sessions are on the water and meet at the Lake Jacomo Marina Rigging Lot Saturdays 8:30 am - 12:00 pm Thursdays 6:30 pm-9:00 pm
