John Kling Memorial TransJac
The John Kling Memorial TransJac race is held as the last event of the sailing season. The trophies will be awarded at the JSC banquet meeting at the end of the season. One keeper trophy per 4 boats entered with a minimum of first and second place award. The Don MacClaymont trophy is awarded to the second place finisher. The JSC board may elect to divide fleet into "Open" and "Novice" divisions.
All yachts will sail the same course and are scored Portsmouth Handicap. It will be at the RC’s discretion to set the course of the particular race of the day. The RC will attempt, but is not required, to incorporate the following items into the racecourse. Windward leg to the best possible location and to match or exceed the normal racing distance for a leg of this type. One leg of the race at least ½ the distance up the arm of the lake known as “A” arm. One leg of the race at least ½ the distance up the cove of the lake known as “Ligget Cove.” One race mark set a reasonable distance from and directly in front of the Lake JACOMO dam.
