Jacomo Sailing Club
A Community Sailing Organization.
August 20, 2017 is a very popular club event the Novice Regatta. This event is designed especially for new sailors who would like to try racing but are fearful because they do not know the rules, do not understand the process, do not feel comfortable sailing around other boats or are unsure about their sailing skills. If any of this sounds like you, then you need to participate in this regatta. To be eligible to participate, the helmsman cannot have participated in more than 6 races in the last two years, this means everyone sailing is new and is in the same boat. Participants are encouraged to team up with an experienced sailor to help and coach them through the races. Ed Seacord (firstname.lastname@example.org) will help make connections with the experienced sailors and coordinate boats. There is a skippers meeting, noon at the pavilion conducted by Bernie Kuse that will explain all the particulars on the race and answer any questions. Attached is the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions that provides a lot of information about the race. A social with club provided food is planned after the races about 5:30 at the Sailing Center.
It is important to have your boat set up and ready to go by noon Sunday, the skippers meeting is at noon at the pavilion conducted by Bernie Kuse. The first race is at 1:30.
If you are new to sailing, a sailing student or just want to give it a try, contact Ed Seacord (email@example.com) and try racing.
Please RSVP your intentions to participate so we can better plan our food needs.
