The Jacomo Sailing Club is
the oldest public sailing club in the Kansas City area. It was founded in 1958
and has a rich history of running top notch one design races on Lake Jacomo.
Contact the Jacomo Sailing Club today. We can provide a starting point for your
introduction into sailing, racing and fun on the water. The club welcomes all
new interested beginner sailors, even if you have never sailed. There are fleet
activities forming every year for novice and junior sailors. The Jacomo Sailing
Club is a member of both the Central States Sailing Association
(CSSA) and US Sailing. The club
holds Sunday afternoon races, from May through October. The races start at 1:30,
and boats sail from both Sailboat Cove on the East side, and the marina on the
West side.
2010
Spring Fling
Spring Fling will occur on March 20th at Chappells at 6:00
pm. This is the same location as last year. The club will provide prizes, club
information and have a table for items for sale. Chappells

Race
Committee Seminar
Announcing a Race Committee Seminar March
27, 2010, at the Missouri Yacht Club, R 71, Lake Lotawana, MO, 9 AM to 4 PM
presented by Brian Hawboldt from Houston TX. The day long event will provide
valuable information to the average sailor’s understanding of the operation of
the race committee. For current race committee personal the event will be
refresher course on race committee operation. The instructor is a seasoned race
committee chair.
The cost is $20 a person, which includes lunch. Any
funds left over after covering expenses will be donated to the MYC youth sailing
program. Space is limited so reserve yours early. Reservations close at 6 PM on
Friday, March 26th. Send your check in NOW to reserve your space. Non reserved
seating on a ‘space-available’ basis may be available Saturday, March 27th. Late
registration will be $25.00 per person.

The Racing Rules of Sailing for 2009-2012 -
Amendments Effective 1 January 2010
The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) announced
today that, as a result of actions taken by the ISAF Racing Rules Committee
and the ISAF Council during the ISAF Annual Conference, several changes in
The Racing Rules of Sailing for 2009-2012 will take effect on 1 January
